When we are faced with a time in our lives where we are in The Wilderness – any place that we are not happy to be in. Whether we are there because of our choices or circumstances beyond our control, we always ask, Why? Why me, why now, and if we are honest often, why not someone else …….
Our human nature seeks comfort and security while God seeks for us to move and grow. Comfort and security are a part of our lives that we hope accompany us along the way, but our lives only grow and strengthen when we move forward and climb toward God’s purpose for us in our lives.
THE WILDERNESS
We can recognize through our faith that God allows us the time in The Wilderness to strengthen and prepare us for our future. Still, we often come to the question of why Jesus, the son of God, had to endure a time in The Wilderness?
Well, before we stress too long on that particular “why,” we should realize some of our purposes in the obvious answer – He didn’t need to. He also did not need to come and live here among us and die for our sins – He chose to! Jesus endured The Wilderness in His time here for US, and He came and died for US, for our forgiveness.
May we live our lives both in and out of The Wilderness in the light of the life that Jesus lived and gave for US. Our prayer should be that we strive for the strength of Jesus as we live in The Wilderness.
