We tend to think in terms of our “perception” of the circumstances and people around us for just the moment we are in, but God’s plan may be a bit different from his larger view, “perspective,” in considering All things in our lives. Sometimes, our perception of a place we are in can cause us to lose sight of our long-term perspective according to God’s plan. God’s perspective for our lives is always to bring glory to Him and hope to our lives.
For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT)
If the value of our actions impacts someone’s life, it may open a door for us to share bigger things with them from our lives, including the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our simple actions can allow a conversation with someone who would never have trusted us for that discussion before. Our reward may be to share the gift of eternal life with them, and our real reward just doubled by adding a new friend’s name into God’s Book of Life. Having a new friend for eternity is no small thing.
