loss of a spouse
I am reaching out because you have lost a spouse, and most likely know someone else who has also. While we know death is inevitable, it still creates an abrupt change to the normal flow of our lives. We try to find rest and comfort in the spiritual promise that while our mortal bodies return to the dust of the ground, our eternal soul returns to God, who allowed us to live.
For then the dust will return to the earth, and the spirit will return to God who gave it.
( Ecclesiastes 12:7 NLT )
All death can be very challenging, but the death of a spouse brings a unique kind of pain. If you have lost a spouse, then you haven’t just lost a loved one—you have lost an entire lifestyle. The bond that we build with our mate becomes our very existence and defines our life’s purpose. When the separation breaks that bond of deat,h it leaves us with not just a death to deal with but an identity crisis of our own. You may be new and just starting down the road of loss and grief – you may have run and ignored it, or maybe you pretended to process grief by grieving over a long period of time with no result. If you find yourself here, then maybe Grief Share can be a helpful experience for you.
We want to open our doors for a one-night / two-hour support group meeting, specifically developed for those who have lost their spouse. We are not promoting or selling anything; we are simply trying to provide a positive and caring environment. We will come together to meet with others who are sharing the same burden that you are carrying.
For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.” ( Matthew 18:20 NLT )
A meal will be provided at 6 PM, followed by a video and support discussion. Workbooks and access to the follow-up support materials will be provided to you and are yours to keep. I hope to see you in September.
