No picture is better for us to understand perseverance in life than the Gospel of Jesus Christ and God’s plan of Salvation. We will go through many doors in our lives, some of them we open, some God provides and some change from closed to opened for us to fulfill our purpose in Life.
Sin can cause us to take a wrong door that we created on our own and when God closes it to help us back on track with another open door, we miss it by pouting and looking at the closed door with regret that we did not get what we wanted. Jesus tells us if we use him as our first door before entering others that we can go in and out of other doors and he will go with us and guide us.
Doors
As I write this our youth are preparing to enter back into the doors of the local schools. Here they plan to study and learn thereby improving their knowledge that will continue to open other doors for them in life.
Jesus promises here that not only is He the door to God but that being a part of His spirit will allow us to go in and out of doors in our lives finding what we need along the way to better serve Him and others. God may even close a door in front of us and it can be difficult for us to understand sometimes. We need to work to strengthen our faith to know that God never closes a door without opening another one for us to better serve Him.
Windows
It may even be a window that he opens so it is important that we don’t look back too long before we move forward in serving Him. Opportunity can be one of the most wasted things in our lives if we are stuck on our last thought that we were certain was meant for us.
I do believe that there are always three answers to any question that we ask God – Yes, No and wait. I do NOT believe that He only puts opportunities in front of us one at the time. If we are told No or wait, then there are always other things in front of us that we could be working in for Him.
What doors or windows are open in front of you today that yesterday is keeping you from looking at?
9 I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.
John 10:9 (NKJV)
