Bible Study on Philemon

If you remember from our most recent study on Paul’s letter to the Colossians, we mentioned that the Church there most likely gathered in the home of a man named  Philemon. We also discussed that the letter of Colossians would be read in his home as a guide of help to the Church. The Colossians were meeting the challenges of different thoughts and cultures that were surrounding them and pushing to expand the meaning of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Paul knew from Epaphras ( the pastor or leader of the Church in Colossae ) what the environment was there and that they needed good help to keep their faith on track. Paul wanted to send them that help and had just the person in mind. Unfortunately, Epaphras had most likely also told Paul that he didn’t think that would be a good idea because of the background of the helper that Paul had chosen – please join us to see how Paul decided to deal with this challenge and keep the Gospel of Jesus Christ growing in the area of Colossae by doing a Bible Study on Philemon.
