Bible Study on Pastoral Epistles

Have you ever wondered how we come to have so many different worshipping dominations as a part of the Church? Does it seem strange to you that one congregation of people is comfortable being led by one “man” while another does not seem to care about whether it is a man or woman and yet is still willing to be led by a group of people that control most activities remotely?

Then another group only trusts themselves to govern and guide their path in adhering to God’s purpose for their Church. Churches, like people, are all unique and different in how they structure themselves to carry out God’s purpose in their ministry. They are all alike in that, regardless of the structure, the quality of the leadership allows them to function effectively for God.

We will be studying the Pastoral Epistles ( 1 Timothy, Titus & 2 Timothy ) to gather Paul’s advice and wisdom on the structure of the Church, but most importantly, we will get his input on the qualities of the people that are chosen to fill out the structure.

We can select people and fill positions in our structure any way we see fit, but Character will always determine our government and society’s success. Please join us to study these three letters and try to answer some of the questions above.

As Paul neared the end of his life, he felt compelled to share some of his skills and observations so that Timothy and Titus might understand how to structure and manage expectations in their respective Churches. He also wanted to guide them in selecting the right leaders to be able to maintain and grow their congregations.
