Bible Study on Hebrews
The letter in our Bible titled Hebrews was labeled “The letter to the Hebrews” as early as the second century. It carried that title only shortened to just Hebrews for reference as it is not easily confused with other writings.
We will be embarking on a study of this letter with a focus on the content and application that it provided to the Jewish Christian of that time and how it represents the high office of Jesus Christ and how it brings all the roads and writings before it as a pointer to Jesus Christ. It is the highlighted conclusion of the walk of faith of God’s people. While we will cover thoughts on the author and timing of the letter in our initial introduction, we will not get bogged down on either of those areas.
I will often reference Paul, as I personally feel it matches his writing and the clues in the letter point to him as the writer. Hebrews is to Paul’s other epistles what Leviticus is to Exodus. Exodus brought God’s people freedom ( justification ) from sin and Leviticus provided the guide to daily living ( sanctification ) and a righteous life.
I pray you will be able to join us on this journey through Hebrews and that it will bring Jesus closer to the center of your life and uplift you in your daily walk with Him.
