If you have been following the messages the last few weeks this will be clear.
We live our lives in the world and culture of “little” white lies, half truths and hidden truths. We have convinced ourselves that our behavior and treatment of one another is ok if the ends justify the means as long as the ends are in our favor and seem to be “somewhat” true.
Our curse of sin was born of a half truth from satan to Eve in the garden.
GENESIS 3:4 -5 “You won’t die!” the serpent replied to the woman. “God knows that your eyes will be opened as soon as you eat it, and you will be like God, knowing both good and evil.”
The half truth was that our eyes were opened and we do know right from wrong – the cost of the lie that came with it – DEATH!
We are willing to kill one another every day by wrapping a small grain of truth in the beautiful wrapper of an ugly lie and we call it “our truth”. God’s Truth is not subject to an interpretation of context to be proven as true. He can never be anything other than Truth.
1 John 5:20 “And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.”
We should not be fooled by someone else’s “truth” while knowing that what we got in the garden gave us all an internal compass to know right from wrong and it sits in our conscience. When the compass needle of our conscience moves off True North in Jesus Christ, God is helping us to know that we need to correct our course back to Him who guides us to eternal life!
